This year we will finally get the chance to celebrate Eid with our loved ones, especially those of us living away from home. Bertemu Di Hari Raya is written with this in mind, anticipating the glorious moment we will celebrate together!
It’s been a wonderful, magical and speedy experience crafting this jazz ballad with pianist and composer Metta Legita, fellow Nusantara musician also based in Phnom Penh. Thanks to Metta’s connections, we recorded the song at Jesse Ricketson’s authentic kampung studio featuring Arone Silverman on bass. The song made it all the way across the world to be mixed by my long-time musical collaborator Michael Tingle in Cornwall and mastered at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.
